Tulip was brought up in Mumbai, and attended the Jamnabai Narsee School, and later Mithibai College from where she graduated in food science and chemistry. Tulips entry into movies is more a chance occurrence. She was spotted by Yash Raj when she was a brides maid at a wedding. She was asked to appear for an audition and she got a chance to work in Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai.
