The Oscar for lousy deliveries goes to SEVENTYMM!! I have never been happy with seventymm and it all began when they delivered and picked up 3 sets of movies in 4 day without me ordering or requesting pick up. I hadn't watched the movies at all! I decided to go for cancellation and spoke to every employee in their departments. Having paid for 1 year Rs.1660 they are not refunding on cancellation of the account. Watch it!! they are out to get your money!! BEWARE

After several decent and polite mails to 70MM, this is my final mail to 70MM dated 22/11/2008:
This is addressed to all fools and idiots and insolent duds recruited in the 70MM team:
Can you guys not understand a simple request? Inspite of my mails, it is surprising that yesterday afternoon, your guy came to my address to only pickup the discs available with me, without any new discs.
In view of the fact that my last mail on this subject was sent only in the afternoon, I still chose to give a benefit of doubt to you dumb fellows, hoping that the error would be rectified soon.
But you have now crossed all limits of testing my patience by once again sending your person again today only for pick-up and not for delivery.
Communicating to you is like banging head on the wall. Hence I shall only share my woes with other members of 70MM through your forum.
All the best in your downward journey and loss of market share. You have just lost a customer to BigFlix.

Mail to 70MM on 21/11/2008:
This is pathetic on part of your company to not even respond your customers' grievances. It only shows your indifference and apathy towards customer service. Just to share with you, I was approached last week by BigFlix offering a free trial period of 2 weeks followed by subscription if satsified with their services. I had refused the offer, as I have been a loyal customer of 70MM since last one and a half years. But with such poor service levels on your part, it appears you are trying to push your loyal customers to switch their loyalties. It is really disheartening for a patronising subscriber like me to see 70MM losing its market share to competition by new entrants who have much less experience in this industry than 70MM. In the past I have even recommended the services of 70MM to my friends and colleagues and even through my blogs. But now, you are forcing me to regret my recommendations and faith in your service.

I have been a subscriber of 70MM since May 2007, and was very satisfied with the quality of their services and discs till last few months. However, recently their services have completely deteriorated. Firstly I had requested delivery of movies in DVD formats, which were wrongly sent to me in VCD formats. They returned the same in a day. Now, when I have requested for DELIVERY, they are sending their person only for PICKUP. Inspite of repeated calls and emails, today was the third time their 70MM person came only to pick up the deliveries instead of delivering new ones. None of our complaints or letters or emails seems to make any sense to the 70 MM staff. I am now really frustrated with 70MM as it only appears that 70MM is filled up with staff who have no sense or brains at all. I have been sending them polite emails so far, but now it is the height. We should jointly drag 70MM to a Consumer Court. I shall be posting copies of my emails in subsequent posts.

'No Country for Old Men' snaps up early Oscar awards

HOLLYWOOD — No Country for Old Men got off to a killer start at the 80th annual Academy Awards.

Javier Bardem, who portrayed a particularly brutal serial killer in No Country, won the first of the “big six” Oscars, in the supporting-actor category.

During his acceptance speech, the Spaniard — directing his comments toward his mother in the audience — told her in Spanish that this Oscar will help “to recover the dignity of actors... and it’s for our pride.”

Soon afterward, Joel Coen and Ethan Coen won the Oscar for adapted screenplay for No Country — based on the novel by Cormac McCarthy. Canadian writer/director/actress Sarah Polley, 29, was nominated in that category for her celebrated feature-film directorial debut, Away From Her. She had adapted her screenplay from Alice Munro’s short story.

Bookies favour Cate Blanchett to win Best Supporting Actress

CATE Blanchett is the bookies' choice to win an Oscar for best supporting actress on Sunday night, although they don't rate her chances for a double victory.

British bookmaking giant Ladbrooke's has Blanchett at 11-10 to take home the trophy for her portrayal of music legend Bob Dylan in I'm Not There, ahead of Gone Baby Gone star Amy Ryan on 2-1.

US online betting site Paddy Power has the Aussie at 6-5.

American gaming site Hollywood Stock Exchange also listed Blanchett as favourite.

But she is given only a slim chance of winning best actress Oscar for her role in Elizabeth: The Golden Age, with Julie Christie (Away From Her) the hot fancy.

Other bookies' favourites include Brit Daniel Day-Lewis for best actor for his powerhouse performance as a fortune-obsessed oil-magnate in There Will Be Blood.

Oscar Odds have Daniel Day Lewis favored in Best Actor Category

In recent Oscar history, the winner of the Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Actor, has gone on to win the Oscar for Best Actor.

His acting in this movie was absolutely mind blowing; he took it to a whole other level. I haven’t seen superb acting like this since Forest Whitaker in The Last King of Scotland.

If he doesn’t win, it’s a sure setup. Daniel Day Lewis – There will be Blood at 1/13 to win.
