Pocketmaar is one of the genre of crime films Dev acted in. He is a small time pickpocket, who has lied about his occupation to his mother and his girlfriend who later becaomes his wife. On the other hand he also leads Nadira to believe he is in love with him so that he can get information about her boss, a big criminal and gets him caught by the police. When Nadira finds out the truth that he is married, enraged, she divulges his secret to his mother that makes her commit suicide.
