Omkara or Omi [Ajay Devgan] is a gifted chieftain who heads a gang of outlaws, which include the crafty Langda Tyagi [Saif Ali Khan] and the dynamic Kesu [Vivek Oberoi] amongst his chief cohorts. The story begins when Omi appoints Kesu and not Langda as his chief lieutenant. Langda's pride is slighted and raging with envy he hatches a plot to falsely implicate Omi's beautiful lover Dolly [Kareena Kapoor] in a love affair with Omi's “favorite lieutenant” Kesu. With the unwitting aid of Indu [Konkana Sen Sharma], Langda's wife, and the willing help of Raju, a fellow grouch, Langda's plan takes shape and results in horrific tragedy.

A so called flop - however the characterization is just superb...Ajay Devgan - although a very average actor (very highly and wrongly rated) suited the role of the ugly villan who is the protagonist, also Karina Kapoor has suited well in the role being the unfortunate and dumb wife. But the icing to the cake is the character of Langra Tyagi - superbly done Saif - his best performance till date! A must watch for people who can understand some village language - for others watch the film repeatedly to understand the meaning...
The best dialogue is the first: Dhaage bhar ka fark hota hai bewkoof aur chutiye me...

Vishal Bhardwaj is a genius! Great backdrop of this film based on Shekhubhai's (I mean William Shakespeare's) "Othello".
