Rhea (Rani Mukherjee) and Karan (Saif Ali Khan) meet on a flight from Mumbai to New York as both are going to study there. However Rhea finds Karan's fresh attitude disengaging and they part on angry terms. They continue to run into each other(in New York and later in India when Rhea is getting married) over the years and slowly their relationship develops.
