When asked what she did during Puja, she ruefully says, “I didn’t get to go home for Puja. I missed my family – we have a house puja in Kolkata, and my younger sister was in Mumbai, giving her exams. She was staying with me, and so we couldn’t go home and missed the pujas completely,” she says. “There was no shopping, no rush, nothing.”
But when she’s talking about her plans for today, her eyes do, literally, light up. “On Diwali, the entire family is going to be together, though John won’t be there. We’ll have a small dinner, and there’s my Lakshmi Ganesh puja,” she says.
Bipasha says that she’s not very religious, but she has “a lot of faith”. “I’m religious to the point that it should be easy,” she says. “I don’t chant mantras, I don’t necessarily have to go to temples to pray either. I can even walk into a church and pray, and I pray in English." | | |
