| | | Neha: I got flak for my size | | | | Former Miss India Neha Dhupia thinks that both she and filmmakers have moved beyond her sex symbol image. Oh, and she does admit that she got tagged that way. “It’s true that the industry tags people easily,” she says.
“But at least I had an image, unlike a lot of girls who come to the industry and never get noticed. Most of the women who are my contemporaries, who’ve done 15 films – what’s their recall value? In that sense, I didn’t really mind the tag.” Good for her. But now, she feels she’s overcome the branding. “I’m glad that over time, filmmakers have realised that I have more to give to the industry than just a beauty-pageant-winner face. Despite my first film, filmmakers like Rajat Kapoor showed faith in me and offered me roles in movies like Mithya. I’ve made more mistakes than others have, but I can sit back and laugh about it now because I’m more confident,” she says........... | | |
