Khalid Alvi, head of the Urdu Department in Zakir Hussain College, moved the High Court seeking a ban on the film and revocation of its censor certificate last week. Alvi claimed in his petition that Anil Kapoor’s character in the film, Rajan Mathur, also an Urdu professor in Zakir Hussain College, was based on him.
Ghai clarified any resemblance was purely accidental. “We’ve said in the very beginning of the film that all characters are fictitious. Even the voice-over in the film repeats this,” Ghai said. | | |
